Christmas day food comas :)

After all that food and shenanigans, we finally headed to bed 🙂

We woke up at almost noon and made our way back to Cafe Jolei to partake in the overabundance of sustenance.. Even the parentals made it over to eat too.. Ate food.. fought through a food coma and watched Hansel and Gretel. Oddly enough the movie was good for what it was.. I was expecting uber cheese, but it was good.. Good that I would get it on blu ray for the right price. 🙂

Took some goofy shots of us and the kids.. Silly Liam and lumbering Spencer. Owen must be huddled in there somewhere too haha..

Ugggggh.. SO not wanting to go back to work yet. I should have taken an extended vacation. Bah!

Lookin mighty fine!

Went by the parentals to drop off some pants that needed hemming as well as cut Spencer’s nails and check up on him.. Looks like his skin definitely cleared up and he’s back to his usual crazy self.. I miss that crazy fatty.. ESP when he runs around the house with his tail tucked..

I talked it over with mom and it looks like we’ll just keep an eye on the lump on his elbow to watch for any changes in its shape or consistency.. At his age, trying to get it removed with clear margins will only lead to amputating his front right leg and he may not even make it through the surgery. I wish I could but based on his age and lump location, it might not work out.. The reality of it hits pretty close to home.. And it’s a huge hit to the pocket. I wish I had all the money in the world for his procedure but even with that, he cards might be stacked against him..

I love Spencer dearly and would do anything I can to help.. But this is something we just have to observe and hope nothing more develops..

If only god didn’t need his angels so quickly, dogs would be able to live as long as we did.. Humans can only hope to love as unconditionally as dogs do…

Love you Fatty, always…

Dog is my co-pilot.

Yes he is. Oh yes..

Random day drive out. Was running errands and took spencer with me. Lol funny.. I usually make him sit in the back because I don’t want him crashing into the dash, but this time he insisted on sitting upfront.. So I let him, and he navigated well.. Hahah 🙂

We kinda went all over the place. Ranch, Fred Meyer, post office, so I could grab a few more things for his food supply.

I was at Fred Meyer and I had asked the deli lady if there were chicken hearts or gizzards, as I hadnt seen them there before. She looked at me funny and asked me if it was for me and I told her it was for my dog. She must have thought I was crazy, then asked me what kind of dog it was..

“what kinda dog you got? You got a pitbull dont you?”
“yeah he is a pitbull….”
“oh he must be vicious… You feed him meat so he vicious huh?”
“uh.. No he is actually pretty chill. It is a better diet for him.”
“oh well feeding meat makes em vicious..”
“yeah he is not…”

Ignorance. I truly hate the people who messed it up for pitbulls. I’ll admit, I wish I had socialized him more when he was a puppy.. I wish I knew what I know now back then. But all I can do is be a good and responsible pet owner for Spencer and an advocate for the breed.

What people don’t realize that an animal is an animal.. Be it big or small, they will act according to what it’s owner taught them. If they fight it’s because they were taught to. Pets are a reflection of their owners. If a pitbull bites, so does a loud mouth Pomeranian or chihuahua. But the danger still remains.

People need to stop stereotyping the breed and start blaming the owners. I know my spencer has his shortcomings and they are only at the fault of my own hands. But people need to remain open minded. Spencer is a sweetheart when you get to know him and the only part people initially see is his protection over me, his fam or his domain. Which is like any animal, including humans.

Spencer will always be my co-pilot 🙂
